Xbox Game Pass September 2026 [Wave 1]: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Speedrunners 2: King of Speed

Xbox has revealed the latest array of games arriving on Xbox Game Pass throughout the first half of the month. Most notably, the biggest game to arrive this month is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which becomes available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Premium subscribers on September 8th.

All titles featured in the latest wave are available as long as you have an active subscription. This grants access to the rotating list of games available on the service. It’s worth noting that some new titles are being added to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate only while other are also available to the Xbox Game Pass Premium tier.

Here’s the full list of what to expect throughout the first half of September 2026.

Shelldiver (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 1

Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass

Shelldiver puts players in the shell of a turtle with a surprisingly ambitious business plan: catch jellyfish and sell them. As you upgrade your equipment and venture into deeper ocean biomes, you’ll also help the local turtle community, assuming you can tear yourself away from the occasional well-earned nap.

Speedrunners 2: King of Speed (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC) – September 3

Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed brings its frantic platform racing back with support for up to eight players online. Players will need to master each map, use power-ups and grapple around the environment while trying to stay ahead of the competition, because getting knocked off-screen remains a particularly embarrassing way to lose.

Dice a Million (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – September 4

Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass

Dice a Million turns rolling dice into a roguelike deck-building strategy game. Players build their dice bag, equip powerful rings and use various tricks to push their luck further, with the ultimate goal of rolling their way toward one million.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 8

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War brings its globe-trotting campaign to Game Pass, taking players through the early 1980s and locations including East Berlin, Vietnam and Turkey. Developed by Raven Software, the campaign mixes espionage, historical figures and plenty of Cold War intrigue as players attempt to uncover what’s really going on.

The Royal Writ (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – September 10

The Royal Writ combines medieval warfare with roguelike deck-building. Players build an army and send their heroes into battles across a dynamic battlefield, with fallen warriors permanently becoming part of the kingdom’s legend. In other words, victory is important, but knowing when to sacrifice a hero can be just as valuable.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC) – September 1

Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage expands the classic fighting game with a new single-player journey. Alongside the new World Stage mode, players can compete online with Cross-Play and Rollback Netcode or refine their skills with enhanced Training and Replay features.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC) – September 15

RuneScape: Dragonwilds takes the series into survival territory, sending players to the forgotten continent of Ashenfall after dragons awaken. You’ll gather resources, build, craft and uncover the region’s secrets while working with other players to prepare for a showdown with the Dragon Queen.

Aniimo is a creature-catching open-world RPG set in the colourful world of Idyll.
